Canada in the Contemporary World Course Plan, Introductory Lesson, and Vision- Grade 9 Social Studies

December 31, 2017

This is a course plan, introductory lesson to the course, and year long vision for grade 9 social studies according to the Manitoba program of studies. In the course plan document skills, unit goals and pedagogical themes are organized. The vision for the year provides and overview on the units in relation the social studies curriculum and my vision for my classroom ethos, The introductory lesson to the course is designed to provide students with spaces for individual and collective inquiry while being introduced to what they will be studying for the year. The pedagogical theme I used in designing this course was "Canada- A Nation Built From Individual and Collective Narratives."
